Tai Chi / Qigong class in Orleans
Tai Chi (yang style, long form, first section) and Qigong exercise for healthy musculoskeletal alignment and energy flow. All in a one hour weekly session!
Tuesdays, 9am-10am, at the Healing Arts Collective, 47 Main St, Orleans
8 weeks, from 19 October to 7 December
$15/class, or $110 prepaid for the series

The first 10-week session begins on Thursday October 28. There will be no class on November 25 (Thanksgiving). The fee is $135 (cash or check), due on the first class. Pre-register by calling the instructor, Charlene Pilon at 508-864-7588
If you are looking for a class that incorporates gentle, slow-moving Tai Chi exercises that focus not only on improving your balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility, but also on your overall sense of well-being, and the quality of your sleep, this class may be what you are looking for. In this class you will learn:
*How to get rid of unwanted tension in the body while stationary and in motion
*How to deepen the breath to calm the nervous system, and therby reduce anxiety and worry
*How to improve your posture in order to lengthen your spine
*How to achieve harmony of body and mind
Staying within each participant's comfortable limit and proper body alignment are emphasized throughout each class. This 60-minute class is open to any age. No prior experience in Tai Chi necessary. Experienced practitioners are welcome to sign up. You should be able to stand/move for 20-25 minutes at a time. There will be a short break at the half-way point of each class. If you have any health issues check with your doctor before starting class. If you have any questions about the class, feel free to contact the teacher. Wear shoes, loose comfortable clothing, and bring a water bottle. Participants must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and wear a mask. For your safety the space is well ventilated.

Instructor Charlene Pilon has been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong for the past 25 years; and teaching for
the past 10+ years in central Massachusetts. She began and continues her practice with David Masera, a
student of Grandmaster Zhang Lu Ping and with Master Yang Yang. Additionally, she has attended numerous classes and other workshops with other teachers including: Ken Cohen, Marie Favorito of the Boston Healing Tao, and Master Wei Lun Huang
